Bainbridge Island Surprise Engagement Proposal
Seattle has slowly become a favorite city of mine. There is so much to do, to see, and if you’re an outdoor enthusiast but still enjoy city life, it’s the perfect place to be. Just a ferry ride away, about 35-45 minutes, sits Bainbridge Island. A place very special to Sarah and her now-fiancé Katelyn.
Normally with proposals, I’m hidden somewhere inconspicuous and when the moment comes, I’m right there to snap it. For Sarah and Katelyn, it was a little different. I’ve photographed Sarah prior to this surprise proposal so we already knew each other. We told Katelyn that since Tommy and I were going to be in the Seattle area (which we weren’t, that’s just what we told her) it would be fun to do a couples shoot. You know what? It worked!
Bainbridge Island also has a special place for Tommy and I so being able to go back there with him and document this surprise engagement for Sara and Katelyn was an incredible honor. We shared tears, many laughs, and several cheers. Below are some images to help tell the story of their engagement day from the ferry sunrise in to the ferry sunset out.
