Davis Wedding Photography | Backyard Brunch | Emily + Andrew

Music makes people come together, right? For some, like Emily and Andrew, music played a big role in bringing these two together.
Emily and Andrew met in Ohio while they were both attending Oberlin College, a liberal arts college and conservatory of music. Though they didn’t really talk much at first, they would notice each other in classes and around campus. When it came time to fly home for winter break, Emily saw a familiar face (its always nice to see those in airports!) in the same terminal she was at. That face was Andrew’s. They got to talking and told each other that after winter break was over, they’d like to see each other again at school.
Although winter break had ended, the winter in Ohio hadn’t. Emily and Andrew were both at a house party and Andrew took Emily out to “ice skate” on a frozen puddle. They laughed, slid, and helped each other from falling. It was in that moment they could tell something was there.
Emily + Andrew’s afternoon wedding took place in the beautiful backyard of Emily’s parents. Everything looked wonderful and no details were left untouched. All of the music was live and it was a perfect way for these two to celebrate their love.
Starting off with a few details…

The cool thing about having the wedding at her parents house, was that she was able to get ready in the room where she grew up in. Here she is reading a note from Andrew…

Emily and Andrew had a “memory tree” for those who couldn’t be there in person, but were there in spirit.

Table runners were made of sheet music, totally fitting for the two of them. Table numbers were accompanied with a photo of each of them at that particular age.

Their first dance song was of course, played live.

One of the details Emily and Andrew put out for their guests was a mad lib. I thought this one was pretty funny…

It may have been hot and the middle of the day, but that didn’t stop their guests from dancing to live music.

I’ll end this post with a ring shot. On the Piano of course.

Congrats you two!
