Dixon is a quaint little farming town that has grown quite a bit throughout the years. Dixon is where I grew up, went to preschool, middle school and graduated high school, played in the street, got stitches, made the neighbors mad at me, did mischievous kid-like things, etc. One thing that is Dixon has in common, along with any small town, is that everyone knows everyone. Okay I may be exaggerating a bit but it’s not uncommon for a lot of people to have some sort of connection to each other in this small town.
Lori and Herman were no exception! I’m a couple of years older than one of his sons, played youth football with him, and I went to school with Lori’s daughter. We even had the same teachers growing up. (heyy Karli!) Making that connection with the two of them (and being from Dixon) was a really neat thing to happen and it already felt like I knew them for a lot longer than I did…5 minutes.
When Herman called me to schedule the session, he already had a spot in mind. They wanted to photograph on their property with an old red Chevy truck and the blossoming almond orchards…pretty much a photographer’s dream. A storm was coming a couple of days after our shoot and most likey would blow of all of the blossoms on the almond trees so we timed the session perfectly. Here are a few of my favorites!
I dieee for this red Chevy…
Happy Monday!
