Engagements

It was Sunday and I was keeping a close eye on the weather. The following day we scheduled Geri + Alex’s engagement shoot in San Francisco however the forecast had a 70% chance of rain. I don’t mind cloudy weather for a shoot at all. Rain for the entire shoot though, I had a different opinion about.

Geri and I spoke on the phone and we decided to go for it, rain or shine. I felt completely confident about being restricted to drier spaces…window light, off camera lighting, garages, any other natural light I could find…there would plenty of options to choose from. Heck, even them standing in the rain I thought would be fun! Like the Notebook, right?

Monday morning came and so did the rain. Geri said it was thundering and lightning in San Francisco that morning. Heck, there was even a photographer who captured a lighting bolt hitting the Golden Gate! My windshield wipers were busy from Sacramento all the way to San Francisco. Just as we crossed the Bay Bridge the rain stopped…For how long I wasn’t sure. More importantly I thought, was that Geri + Alex weren’t going to let rain dampen their love for each other. Before we began shooting the sun began to sneak through the clouds and eventually the clouds departed.
